Musicians in Lockdown: Lucid AfterLife Interview

Lucid AfterLife psych folk

Canadian psych folk outfit Lucid AfterLife combines so many contrasting styles that when listening to a full album, you never know what avant-garde surprise it’s going to throw at you next. While influence of several older artists such as Deftones, Russian Circles and David Bowie are apparent, it never takes away from their own unique charm. Through an experimental sound that is heavy and mellow all at once, Lucid AfterLife craft a trippy musical array that culminates to open your third eye.

Nat Jack, lead vocalist and producer for Lucid AfterLife sat down with The Outer Void:

What have you been up to during the pandemic?

I have been doing a lot of experimenting with fasting, went for a 24 day no food fast after my return from working in the studio this July in Mexico City. On the music side of things I have teamed up with some great people to start ALL7 ENTERTAINMENT, we specialize in helping artists become the best versions of themselves in the studios and out in the industry.

Has the lockdown impacted your songwriting this year in any way?

Peace and tranquility is all in the mind. My passion is not on lockdown and neither is my desire for knowledge and a better life.

What’s your favorite show you’ve ever played?

I once played a show on the moon with Jimi Hendrix while astral traveling, that was really fantastic.

If you could tour with any band/artist, who would it be?

Just being with a group of people that are passionate about music and can jam without ego, nothing else is important to me.

What 2020 album would you recommend to someone who believes there’s no good new music?

Go check the 2020 Moka Only record “It Can Do.”

What are your plans for 2021?

I’m working on a new LP with some great musicians, it’s been in process for a while, gonna release that.
